Quiet Please!

Nobody wants a noisy fan, especially when used in a bedroom when you are trying to sleep. Most all of the things mentioned on these pages affect the quietness of a fan, but here are the big ones:

• Bearings
  Signature uses only double sealed and lubricated-for-life high grade steel bearings. The lubricant stays in and the dust and dirt stays out for quiet, life-long running.
• Speed control
  Capacitors control the speed of the fan and Signature uses a separate one for each speed, 3 in every 3 speed fan and 4 in our quad speed models. Single capacitor fans can be 3 speed but cost less to build and will most certainly hum for a lifetime. Insist on a multi-capacitor speed control.
• Vibration isolators
  All motors vibrate, some more than others. But a quality fan’s small motor vibrations will be damped out by the generous use of gaskets and washers throughout. Look for rubber hang bracket isolators, motor gaskets and blade screw washers for quiet running.
